Adega Belém Encruzado 2020 elected our most successful wine of 2021. Made of grapes cultivated at Tapada da Ajuda in the Monsanto foothills of Lisbon’s Ajuda neighborhood, it’s been fermented spontaneously in our winery and aged in neutral oak for a couple of months.

Nesta vindima, colaboramos com a Cervejaria Lince de Lisboa Marvila para criar uma Ale de Uva Encruzado. 10% de sumo de uva recém-prensado de uvas colhidas na Tapada da Ajuda, a vinha da Universidade de Lisboa, são misturados na bebida e fermentados a temperatura relativamente baixa.
Der Herbst ist da. Und der Weinherbst ist auch schon vorbei, mit viel Lachen, Schwitzen, Fluchen und langen Stunden in Weingarten und Kellerei. Mit dabei waren in diesem Jahr Davids Onkels und Tanten aus Hausen und Bremen, und zwei seiner Cousins, die vier Wochen unser Leben teilten.

It’s been one long year since we opened the winery to the public. A year during which we had to close straight after opening, and close again in 2021 due to the Corona epidemic. In the meanwhile Catarina and I continued to make our wines.
