Troika da Bica – Amphora Aged Fortified Red 0,5L

Red fortified wine made of Trincadeira grapes grown inside a cloister garden in the Caparide valley on the Estoril coast just north west of Lisbon. The wine was fortified with brandy and then aged – with full skin contact – for 18 months in a terracotta amphora. Bottled in 2024. Semi-sweet (< 45 gr/sugar per liter), relatively low alcohol for a fortified wine (17,5 vol alc). A curious, outstanding wine, with notes of sweet cheery, candid fruit, truffle that accompanies well medium sweet deserts, wild bird meat, vegetable stews, salty amuse bouches. 92 points by the Portuguese Sommelier Association.
